If it would have ben real horror that would have ben awsome. How can a guy that made movies such as lucy n so many other stellar films make a movie like this?! How in the name of god can u shit so badly on your own franchise. I don't think it's getting an US release though. The group of friends becomes entangled in a deadly game of two youth gangs from a nearby town, who went insane from drugs (or something), and are now cosplaying as characters and monsters from the movie, killing each other as well as the main characters.īut seriously, this movie is so stupid that it was actually fun as hell, so if you can catch it in cinema near you, I actually kind of recommend it. Of course, there is nothing supernatural going on here. Instead of everybody just packing it up, and taking off for the cars, the group splits for some mysterious reasons - all the boys of the group leave to get their injured friend to a hospital, while the girls stay at the grounds - completely unaware of the fact that there is a killer (or killers) running around, because the boys don't bother to inform them about the dead body. Of course, the unfortunate girl eventually ends up going into the barn, and you guess what happens next ("NOT THE BEES!").Ģ) Some of the guys find a dead body in the forest (without a doubt deceased of very unnatural causes) and one of them gets accidentally injured. Other characters find a bee hive in the barn, but instead of telling her "hey, maybe stay away from the barn, there are bees there", they opt to not to tell her, because "she would freak out" and that would of course ruin the trip. The writing is atrocious and the characters all behave like complete idiots.ġ) One of the girls has a severe allergy to bee stings. So lots of quick and flashy cuts, cool music, loud sound effects, while something runs in front of a camera (so scary!), etc. It hits pretty much all the cliches of the genre, while trying to appear "hip" and "cool". The movie looks like it was made by someone who read a brochure "How to make a slasher movie 101" written 40 years ago. The very premise of the movie is non-sensical (I guarantee you there is not a single person in the world who is a die-hard fan of Arthur & the Minimoys like this dude). Of course, strange things start happening, people start dying and dissapearing, and it seems that the creatures from Arthur & the Minimoys may have been real all along. His friends manage to locate the house where the movie was shot (an empty house in the middle of nowhere), and take him there on a camping trip for his birthday. The main character is an 18-years old teen, who is obsessed with the movie Arthur & the Minimoys (absurd idea to begin with, given the dubious qualities of that movie). Basically Human Centipede -> Human Centipede 2, or Grave Encounters -> Grave Encounters 2 kind of situation. But probably not.įor those who don't know, "Arthur: Malediction" is a new french horror movie, produced by Luc Besson, which is sort of a "meta" take on the movie Arthur & the Minimoys, a child movie Luc Besson did around 2006 or something. This movie is honestly "The Room" levels of bad - it's so awful that it goes full circle into being entertaining as hell, that I actually have my doubts if this isn't what the filmmakers intended all along.
